finding the story beneath the surface

Shifting Perspective

For 12 years, I worked as a commercial retoucher. My job was to chase perfection—removing every stray hair and polishing images until they were flawless.

Eventually, I realized that I’d grown weary of the effort that goes into chasing perfectionism only to find that the true story became obscured behind the many layers on top. It was a manufactured truth that left me longing for something real.

My goal now is to work directly with creative professionals. To capture photos that tell the story of what you do and the folks you do it for.

Developing Style

I find inspiration in photographers like Yousuf Karsh whose work blends connection and intentionality to capture the nature and depth of the person in front of the camera.

I use the technical precision of my background where it’s needed to ensure that every photo is high-quality while keeping the authenticity of the documented moment to show the beauty of your personality and the meaningful work that you create.

Focusing Sessions

I plan my sessions with a flow that carries us through the different aspects of what you do.

I start by stepping back while you get engaged in your process so I can document the focus that goes into the work you create. Then we move into capturing the details of your space and the tools you use to help folks get a sense of the atmosphere where the work actually takes place.

For the portraits, we talk candidly about your inspirations and the philosophy behind what you make. The conversation allows for expressions that feel engaged and authentic.

I'll help tell your story with photos that show depth.
